If you listen to WWE's PR spin, Monday Night Raw is the "longest-running weekly episodic TV show in history."
Maybe that's true and maybe it's not. But as a television program that has been airing weekly for more than 30 years, it is absolutely in the conversation.
Since its television debut in 1993, Raw has become the place where top matches happen, big promos are cut, feuds begin and are resolved, and where big storylines come to life on a weekly basis. With respect to other wrestling programs (both in WWE and elsewhere), nothing else holds a candle to Raw's track record for creating must-see moments.
But which are the most memorable of what are literally hundreds of thousands of different moments? In ranking the Top 50 Raw Moments, we looked at the following criteria:
-
How historically important was the moment?
-
Did it get lots of attention at the time of airing?
-
Did the moment help to further a character, feud or storyline?
-
How closely is the moment tied to the Monday Night Raw brand?
Ready? Here we go!
