WWE SuperCard
iOS/Android (mobile)

As I've gotten older, I prefer to play "pick up and play" games. Instead of investing hundreds of hours to complete an epic story, I'd rather play fighting games. Classic arcade games to see how high I can rank in online leaderboards. Games that I can play for 30 mins to an hour a day, and then put them down and come back and do it again tomorrow. Games of that nature. That's what brings me to reviewing this game. It falls into the category of "pick up and play." It's simple on the surface yet deep, so you can invest as little or as much time into it as you choose and still have a good time.
WWE SuperCard was first released back in 2014, but it still has a strong online community. I have no problem finding "matches", and it's still being updated all the time, now celebrating its 11th anniversary! Aside from being a wrestling game, this is also a collectible card game, which is also a genre that I'm a fan of. Again, "pick up and play." Basically, the game sets you up with a certain number of cards to start with, and you earn more cards by having matches with other players.

There are different modes to participate in, such as "Wild" (casual matches), War (ranked matches), King Of The Ring, Elimination Chamber, Survivor Series, etc. You're able to set up your deck for whatever type of match you want to participate in. Aside from the superstar cards, there are also manager cards and various stat boost cards you can use. The current manager for my superstar teams is Ted DiBiase, but I also have a Miss Elizabeth card as an ace up my sleeve, if need be.
As I mentioned, you earn more cards by playing the game, winning matches, and getting XP. With each win, you earn "draft picks". Draft picks mean cards are laid down in a row, face down, and you pick random cards to build up your roster. This leads to getting a lot of duplicate cards, but that's okay. You can sacrifice duplicates in order to train the wrestler cards that you do actually use to higher levels, upgrading them. My go-to roster for War matches currently includes the APA (Farooq and Bradshaw), who handle my tag team matches, and Mankind and CM Punk, who handle the solo work. Also, in "War mode", you choose two female superstars. The two I currently utilize are Jordynne Grace and Rhea Ripley. Two powerhouses, to say the least.

For each game you play against another player, multiple matches are involved. In War mode, it's the best 2 out of 3 falls. The game presents you with a male singles match, a female singles match, or a tag team match; male or female. Each superstar has different rankings in Strength, Toughness, Speed, and Charisma. Before a match starts, the game will inform you that this will be a match based on strength, toughness, speed, charisma, or a combination of each. Certain matches may be a strength/toughness match, etc. You choose the superstar on your roster that you feel most comfortable with, competing in a specific category, based on their stats, and your opponent does the same. Then, you battle it out to see who takes home the victory.
Once you begin to delve deep into the game mechanics, you'll find out that you can forge new cards by using resources that you've collected by playing. You can even "fuse" cards to create new cards. I got a Pat McAfee card from a fusion earlier. I'm currently waiting on another fusion to complete. Apparently, this fusion will give me a Razor Ramon card or a D-Lo Brown card, amongst other options. I'm hoping I end up getting The Bad Guy.
I would highly suggest all of you guys try this game out for yourselves! It seems really fun and really addictive. There's a reason (perhaps many reasons) why this game has been around for 11 years and is still going strong today.
Until next time... keep mashing those buttons!
